Thursday, 16 August:
18:30: Children's workshop (to age ten) making fancy dress and musical instruments (kids should take their own materials). Place: Cala Barques.

Followed by procession with the Pollensa drums and bugles band to Cala Molins.

20:30: Conference and film on navigation in Greek and Roman times, an example of which is the wreck of a Greek ship off Cala San Vicente. Place: Pizzeria, Hotel Cala San Vicente.
 
Friday, 17 August:
20:30: Procession with the giants "L'Esbart de Sant Jordi" and the pipers Xeremiers Orats. From Cala Barques to Cala Molins.

21:30: Open-air trempó (Mallorcan salad) supper and jazz with the trio Desitjazz. Three euros. Place: C. Temporal.

Saturday, 18 August:
18:00: Children's games and balloons' festival. Plaça dels Pins.

21:00: An act in recognition of loyal tourists to Cala San Vicente. Hotel Molins.

22:00: Concert by Tomeu Penya and Gèminis, followed by DJ Flequi. Cala Molins.

Sunday, 19 August:
19:00: Guided visit to the Alzinaret caves and the naviforme village.

21:00: Folk dance with the group Aires de la Cala and the pipers Xeremiers Orats. Cala Barques parking area.

22:00: Havaneres Cuban sea shanties with Arpellots Havaneres Band. Cala Barques.

24:00: Fire display. Cala Barques.

20:00: Procession with giants and "big heads" (caparrots), accompanied by pipers. From Cala Molins to the lookout at Cala Barques.

21:00: Outdoor supper: Trempó (Mallorcan salad) and Jazz. Price, 3 euros. Calle Temporal.


Saturday, 27 August:
18:00: Entertainment for boys and girls. Bouncy castle and more. Plaça dels Pins.

22:00: Party with the group Los Indecisos. Cala Molins.


Sunday, 28 August:
21:00: Country dance with the group Aires de la Cala and pipers. Cala Barques lookout.

22:00: "Havaneres" night (Cuban sea shanties) with Arpellots Havaneres Band and then burnt rum. Cala Molins.

Tuesday, 30 August:
17:00: Carnamar 2011 (for kids to ten years old; workshops for recyclable materials). Followed by a musical procession between Cala Barques and Cala Molins.

FIL D'ARIADNA - Interdisciplinary arts and mythology festival, Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa, Cala San Vicente

Thursday, 11 August:
19:30: Opening of all exhibition rooms. Performance by the singer Mar Cortès with bass player Josep Sina. The terrace of Can Llobera, Pollensa.

21:45: Performance of "Prometheus", directed by Saeta Hernando on the beach in Puerto Pollensa with accompaniment of the drums of the demons group Ka de Bou.

24:00: Welcome oration to the festival by Malena Estrany, councillor for culture. Drums in the Plaça Major, Pollensa and then Prometheus at Can Llobera (the performance appears to move from the port to Pollensa town).


Friday, 12 August:
19:30: Mallorcan folk music with Tomeu Cerdà and U Músics Joglars at La Tafona de Ca'n Reiet, Pollensa.

21:30: The FIL chamber orchestra. Cloister of Sant Domingo, Pollensa.

19:30: Athenian agora along the Paseo Anglada Camarasa and pine walk in Puerto Pollensa.

22:00: Concert of Mestizo Art System and end of festival party at the Cloister of Sant Domingo, Pollensa, with percussionist Marce Ventura, batucada Sandungueros Samba Club, Drago i els Dargonets and Jazz4Trip.

22:30: Dance to a performance by Aumadrà and Baix'Nictotina. Place: Cala Molins.

Sunday, 22 August:
21:00: Traditional African music with Djemde Binye. At Cala Molins.

Sunday, 29 August:
22:00: Musical and visual spectacular with Marta Ferrer. Cala Molins.

AMA FESTIVAL POLLENSA 2008 - WOMEN'S AWARENESS AND CHILL-OUT CALA SAN VICENTE

This festival lasts from 14 to 17 August and takes place in the old town of Pollensa. The objectives include the promotion of the contributions of women to society and of female solutions to the main problems facing the world. The festival comprises conferences, workshops (for adults and children), theatre, music and performance. The workshops etc are not listed here as one suspects they are all going to be Catalan or Castilian and so may not be of interest to an English-speaking audience. Here though are some events that may be:

Thursday 14 August:
