Carl Cox returns to Can Picafort! The Auba night party on 6 August will feature Cox along with Groove Armada and DJs from Space Ibiza. 25 euros in advance (from Cas Chato bar, Can Picafort) or 35 euros on the night.

From 10:30am. At Hidropark, Puerto Alcúdia, a whole host of DJs plus live act as part of the Ibiza Summer Festival. Tickets in advance, 12 euros plus t-shirt from Hidropark.

ESOS KUERNOS ROCK - POLLENSA

Saturday, 4 July. The fifth alternative music festival to be held in Pollensa. Features Mallorcan groups - Dinamo, Los Primos, Black Voltors, Bleed de Man, Prosthetics, Diabólicos, Breathless, Main Line 10, One Foot. After the concerts there will be an "electronic tent" with drum and bass and trance with the DJs Loop Stepwalker, Dark Basser, Mixim, Vigueret and Pascual.

Everything starts at 17:00 and goes on till approximately 03:00. Place: the old football arena (Can Escarrintxo). Entry fee: 6 euros.

AMA FESTIVAL POLLENSA 2008 - WOMEN'S AWARENESS AND CHILL-OUT CALA SAN VICENTE

This festival lasts from 14 to 17 August and takes place in the old town of Pollensa. The objectives include the promotion of the contributions of women to society and of female solutions to the main problems facing the world. The festival comprises conferences, workshops (for adults and children), theatre, music and performance. The workshops etc are not listed here as one suspects they are all going to be Catalan or Castilian and so may not be of interest to an English-speaking audience. Here though are some events that may be:

Thursday 14 August:
22:15: Poetry to music. Maite Brazales and L'Ombra. Place: Pollensa Cultural Centre.

23:00 - : Xeremiers Orats, Show Business, la Fábrika del Funk (DJ Tito Fuster). Place: Pollensa Cultural Centre.

00:00-04:00: AMA "Electrònica" in the bars 14:40, Duna and Jam Bar.


Friday, 15 August:
21:30-05:30: Fuakaman & XGreen (reggae), Killing Cupid, Parsec, Jesús del Cerro, DJs Sergio Patricio, Alex G, Budi, Micha Klein & On-no Klein. Place: Sports Centre (I think this is the case for all these.)


Saturday, 16 August:
21:30-05:30: DJs Manuela M, Lucia Barbiero, Miss Erika, Cristina Molina, Dali & Dinamite, Fernandez Díaz, Núria Ghia. Place: Sports Centre.


Sunday, 17 August:
20:00: Maria Antònia Massanet, poetry and audiovisual, Mati (music), Leo Bassi (theatre), Riki López (music), Albert Pla and Diego Cortés. Place: Convent Cloister.
