ALCUDIA JAZZ 2008 - REMINDER

A reminder that the Alcúdia Jazz season starts this Friday with the invitation-only Skunk Quartet gig. Here is the listing again:

Friday, 29 August:
Skunk Quartet (piano, alto sax, double-bass, drums). Place: Biblioteca Can Torro, C/. Serra. Time: 22:00. Free with advance invitation.

Saturday, 6 September:
Miki Campins Septet (marimba, guitars. flute, keyboards, bass, drums and percussion). Mediterranean-flavoured mix of flamenco, jazz, Afro-Latino, rock and funk. Place: Auditorium Alcúdia. Time: 22:00. Price: 12 euros.

Saturday, 13 September:
Pybus Groove Quartet (sax, piano and keyboards, bass, drums). Jazz mix with influences from black American, hip-hop and rhythm and blues. Place: Auditorium Alcúdia. Time: 22:00. Price: 12 euros.

Saturday, 20 September:
Deborah J. Carter Quartet - Beatles tribute (vocals, bass, piano and drums). "One of the most exciting jazz vocalists on the current European scene." Place: Auditorium Alcúdia. Time: 22:00. Price: 12 euros.

Saturday, 27 September:
Avishai Cohen Trio (double-bass, piano and keyboards). Influential Israeli jazz bassist. Place: Auditorium Alcúdia. Time: 22:00. Price: 20 euros.

Festival season ticket - 45 euros for the four Auditorium concerts; the first 50 subscribers receive an invitation to the 29 August gig.
