SANT JOAN FIESTA 2011 - MURO (Full programme)
Friday, 17 June:
21:30: Prayer for the Sant Joan fiestas, followed by music performances by the Miquel Tortell choir and orchestra and the Tortell children's school of music.
Saturday, 18 June:
18:30: Bullfight at Muro bullring. Matadors: Vicente Barrera, Miguel Abellán and Antón Cortés.
22:00: The Sant Joan Festival of Horses. Parade through the streets to the Plaça Comte d'Empúries. Equestrian games. Accompaniment by pipers and the music band, Unió Artística Murera.
Sunday, 19 June:
10:00: Horse and trap competition. Place: Carretera Inca.
Monday, 20 June:
21:00: Outdoor supper and popular dance with Es Reguinyol and Revetla d'Algebelí. Place: Plaça Comte d'Empúries.
Tuesday, 21 June:
21:00: Traditional party for the fiesta "40 Voltes". With races for children, bike races and concert by the band Unió Artística Murera.
Wednesday, 22 June:
18:45: Children's party. Plaça Comte d'Empúries.
Thursday, 23 June:
17:00: Water party Aigua Festa Park. Place: front of the town hall.
22:00: Demons' fire run.
22:45: Show spectacular - "Immortal Abba" in the Plaça Comte d'Empúries.
Friday, 24 June (Sant Joan):
10:00: Procession with pipers and giants.
12:00: Mass at the Sant Joan Baptista church.
20:00: Tapas sampling "Correbars" around the town.
22:00: Grand party with bands Pacha, Romàntics
24:00: Party continues for a youthful audience: Trianagian, Deimeikers-Dimecres, DJ Rafel Pol and DJ Kramer. Place: Plaça Comte d'Empúries.
Saturday, 25 June:
19:30: Festival of music bands from Santa Maria, Binissalem and Muro. Place: Convent Cloister.
24:00: Muro Saturday Night Fever with Pere Xineta and Joan Campos. Place: Plaça Comte d'Empúries.
Sunday, 26 June:
08:00: Traditional procession with the Skandol Band.
19:30: Solemn mass at the parish church.
22:00: Grand concert with the renowned Mallorcan artist Tomeu Penya and the Geminis, followed by closing grand fireworks spectacular.
