PATRONA 2008 - POLLENSA

This is the basic programme which shows the main events of this year's fiesta week. There are also various exhibitions and sports events.

Saturday, 26 July
20:30: Procession through the streets with the drum and bugle band.

22:00: Concert by the Pollensa Music Band. Place: Cloister Sant Domingo and then street procession.

23:45: Concert with the groups Dynamo and Horris Kamoy. Place: Plaça Major.


Sunday, 27 July
18:30: Giants of Mallorca. Place: Via Pollentia.

19:00: Procession of the giants.

21:45: Pollensa Choir and performances by Bernat Cifre, Los Dariant, Esteva Llobera and Martí Bascuña. Place: Cloister Sant Domingo.

22:45: Concert with the groups Romàntic and the Salsalaia Orchestra. Place: Plaça Major.



Monday, 28 July
17:00: Children's events. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.

22:00: Outdoor theatre. "Hyperlink". Place: Cloister Sant Domingo.

22:30: Traditional Mallorcan dance and music - Sarau Alcudienc. Place: Plaça Major.

23:00: Concert with Pollensa groups - Chisourai, Inner Sight, Defeat Mind, Show Business, No Advice. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.


Tuesday, 29 July
19:30: Supper, music and market: Place: Jardins (Gardens) Joan March.

21:30: Outdoor theatre. "Ventafocs". Place: Cloister Sant Domingo.

23:30: Concert with the groups Melon Band and Los Aslandticos. Place: Plaça Major.


Wednesday, 30 July
19:30: Children's review with performance by Marta Ferrer. Place: Plaça Major.

20:30: Sixties music with the group Piscis - event for older folk. Place: Cloister Sant Domingo.

22:00: Traditional Mallorca dance and music with the Pollensa Dance School and Corda Amarada. Place: Plaça Major.

23:00: Music with the group Entreveus - musical versions of Mallorcan poems and writings and pop classics. Place: Plaça dels Seglars.


Thursday, 31 July
18:00: Children's party and disco. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.

18:30: Ice-cream for kids. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.

19:00: Foam party. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.

22:00: Festa Pollencina. Music and singing with different Pollensa groups. Place: Cloister Sant Domingo.

23:30: Marxa Fresca. Partytime. Place: Plaça Major.


Friday, 1 August
20:00: Procession with the drum and bugle band and the Pollensa Music Band.

20:30: Mass. Place: Parròquia.

23:00: DJs - Patako, Norai, Pako, Numek_full-Attack, Enigma. Place: Plaça Ca les Monnares.

23:00: Concert with the groups The Doldrums, Teenage Head, Verypomelo, No lo sabemos, Soul. Place: Plaça dels Seglars.

23:00: Concert with the groups Valnou, Cocktail and Pelucon Flowers. Place: Plaça Major.


Saturday, 2 August
05:00: Traditional reveille, song and procession. Place: Plaça Major and then streets.

12:15: Dance. Place: Plaça Major.

12:45: Performance by the Pollensa Music Band. Place: Monti-sion Church.

13:00: Refreshments for everyone. Place: Town hall terrace.

17:00: Procession with bugle and drum troupes.

18:00: Procession with the image of the Patrona.

19:00: The Moors and the Christians.

21:30: Song of thanksgiving. The Pollensa Music Band. Place: Plaça Major.

24:00: Grand firework display. Place: Via Pollentia.
