Fiesta Week of Sant Pere / San Pedro - Alcúdia/Puerto Alcúdia 24-29 June 2008

Note: the majority of events take place on or near to the Paseo Marítimo, which is the main promenade in the port area of Puerto Alcúdia

Tuesday, 24 June:
21:30: Opening of the fiestas. With an appearance of the Alcúdia "giants". Place: the church of Puerto Alcúdia, C/. Hostaleria

22:00: Choral concert. Place: the church of Puerto Alcúdia, C/. Hostaleria

Wednesday, 25 June:
19:30: Alcúdia Radio 17th anniversary street procession. Place: Starts from the beach of Es Clot (Barcares) and passes by Charles Square, Alcúdia, the roundabout entering the port (C/. Teodor Canet), down C. Pins and then into the Paseo Marítimo

22:00 Youth concert from Alcúdia Radio with performance by Val 9. Place: Paseo Marítimo

Thursday, 26 June:
18:30: Children's party. Bouncy castles etc. Place: Plaça de Cas Vicari (next to the school and behind the estate agency Engel & Völkers and so close to the Paseo Marítimo)

22:00: Concert by the Alcúdia Municipal Band. Place: Paseo Marítimo

Friday, 27 June:
18:00: Sant Pere street market. Place: Paseo Maritimo

18:00: Finals of football tournaments. Place: Municipal Sports Centre, by the Horse Roundabout

19:30: Display of modern dance. Place: Paseo Marítmo

20:00: Finals of football tournaments. Place: Municipal Sports Centre, by the Horse Roundabout

20:30: Fidevada. A supper that features fideua, noodles that are sometimes used for paella. Price: 6 euros. Place: Moll Vell (the old pier at the far end of the marina), Paseo Marítimo

22:00: Traditional Mallorcan dance and music with the groups Sarau Alcudienc, Quart Creixent and Música Nostra. Place: Paseo Maritimo

Saturday, 28 June:
10:00: Cycle event for local children and their parents, with a circuit of the town. Place: leaves from the Municipal Sports Centre, by the Horse Roundabout

10:00: Table tennis tournament for local children. Place: Municipal Sports Centre, by the Horse Roundabout

10:30: Sandcastle competition. Place: in front of the Xara building on the beach (the beach in the port)

15:00: Beach volleyball. Place: sports area on the beach in Ciudad Blanca (the beach at the top of the Bellevue Mile)

16:30: Table tennis tournament for adults. Place: Municipal Sports Centre, by the Horse Roundabout

18:30: Children's games. Place: Moll Vell (old pier), Paseo Maritimo

19:30: Arrival of the image of La Mare de Déu de la Victòria at the Puerto Alcúdia church, C/. Hostaleria

20:00: Eucharist. Place: Puerto Alcúdia church, C/. Hostaleria

20:30: Sardines and performance (generally of fishermen's and sea songs) by the group Sotavent. Price: 1 euro. Place: Moll Vell (old pier), Paseo Marítimo

23:00: Dance and music with the groups Orquestra Rodamons and Romantics. Place: Paseo Marítimo

Sunday, 29 June:
11:00: Procession with the Alcúdia Municipal Band in Alcúdia

11:15: Gathering of Alcúdia Fishermen with the Alcúdia Municipal Band. Place: Plaça Constitucio, Alcúdia

12:00: Solemn Mass at the Puerto Alcúdia church, C/. Hostaleria

16:00: Finals of the beach volleyball. Place: sports area on the beach in Ciudad Blanca (the beach at the top of the Bellevue Mile)

18:00: Sant Pere street market. Place: Paseo Maritimo

19:00: Mass and the departure of the image of Sant Pere from the Puerto Alcúdia church, C/. Hostaleria

22:30: Party night with performance by Los Rebeldes. Place: Paseo Marítimo
