BINISSALEM - VERMAR 2010

Friday, 17 September:
18:00: Welcome to the "Vermada". In front of Can Buades.

20:00: Reception of the "Vermadors" and "Vermadoras" (local young people selected as representatives of the fiestas). At the town hall with bagpipe accompaniment.

20:30: Prayer for the fiestas. At the parish church with choir as well.

Saturday, 18 September:
12:00: The great grape battle. By the town hall.

14:00: Lunch and party with performances by Thunders, 4L and DJ Sebas Ramis. At the church square.

Sunday, 19 September:
17:30: Grape-treading competition (junior). Church square.

Monday, 20 September:
21:30: Glosadors competition. (The glosadors are singers/monolguists who improvise, often with the help of copious amounts of alcohol.) At the municipal theatre.

Wednesday, 22 September:
20:00: Performance of "tall de vermadors", folk dance, singing and music. Church square.

21:30: International cuisine sampling at the covered parking area of the graduate school.

Thursday, 23 September:
21:00: Fideus de Vermar (fideus are noodles, so this is a dinner which requires obtaining tickets in advance from 19:30 at Can Arabi where it takes place). Performance by the group Chanela.

Friday, 24 September:
08:00: Market at the graduate school parking.

20:30: Open-air supper in the streets of the town.

01:30: Fire run, demons and then drum and samba Batucada. Church square.

Saturday, 25 September:
17:00: Parade of floats with accompaniment by pipers and music groups.

20:00: Wine fair opens. Parc de la Rectoria.

23:00: Party with performances by Sa Minut Band, Niños Mutantes, Baix'n'Nicotina.

Sunday, 26 September:
10:15: Arrival of dignitaries with pipers and giants. At the town hall.

10:30: Solemn mass.

11:30: Grape-treading competition and dance by the Binissalem giants. Church square.

16:00: Free wine.

19:00: Popular dance. Church square.
