DIVERSONS - POLLENSA

The programme "Diversons", under the auspices of L'Obra Social La Caixa, is an initiative to bring together, through music, different cultures. The programme visits different locations within Spain. To celebrate this year's event, there will be two concerts performed in the Plaça Major in Pollensa old town.

Friday, 19 June: Yardem. This singing group is dedicated to a musical tradition of the Sephardic Jews, those of Spanish or Portuguese descent. Time: 22:00.

Friday, 26 June: Cu-Bop. This music is a mix of Cuban jazz and Afro rhythms. The leader of the the band, pianist Luis "Tito" Poyatos, is steeped in a Latin jazz tradition and the band draws on a wide number of influences including that of Dizzy Gillespie. Time: 22:00.
