SANT JAUME AND SANT CRIST FIESTA ALCUDIA 2007

Here is a list of the main events for the Sant Jaume week. This year the Sant Jaume fiesta coincides with the triannual celebration of the miracle of Sant Crist. This is particularly important this year as it is the 500th celebration of Sant Crist. Real history on offer, in other words. Don’t miss it!! Please note that there are various other events taking place, such as sports events and exhibitions, but we list those that are thought most interesting for an international audience.

20 July:

20:00 - Concert by the youth orchestra of Alcúdia. Place: terrace of Can Torró, C/. Serra., Alcúdia

22:00 - International folk dance and music. Escola de Ball de Bot d’Alcúdia, Sarau Alcudienc, Academia de Danças e Cantares. Place: Charles Square (Plaça de Carles V), Alcúdia

23:00 - DJ party. Sono, Xenia Beliayeva, The Passengers, T. Romero and J. Ventayol. Place: Bullring (Plaça de Toros), Alcúdia

21 July:

23:00 - Groups Es Reboster, M-Clan, Pelillos A La Mar. Place: Charles Square (Plaça de Carles V), Alcúdia

22:30 - Outdoor theatre. “1, 2, 3 ... i a volar”. Place: Bullring (Plaça de Toros), Alcúdia

23 July:

22:00 - Alcúdia Super Star. Talent contest for Balearic youth. Place: Charles Square (Plaça de Carles V), Alcúdia

24 July:

22:30 - Music from orchestras Espais Verds and Orquestra Salsalaia. Place: Passeig de la Mare de la Victoria, Alcúdia

25 July:

18:30 - Bullfight. Place: Bullring (Plaça de Toros), Alcúdia

20:30 - Procession from the bullring to the Constitution Square (Plaça de la Constitució) with the Alcúdia Municipal Band

21:00 - Special Concert for the Triannual Sant Crist Celebration. Alcúdia Town Choir with the Chamber Orchestra of Alcúdia and the Sa Pobla Town Choir. Place: Auditorium Alcúdia

22:30 - Concert with Tomeu Penya and Orquestra Geminis. Place: Charles Square (Plaça de Carles V), Alcúdia

26 July:

11:00 - Eucharist followed by the Triannual Procession celebrating Sant Crist. Place: Sant Jaume Church, Alcúdia

22:00 - Special Via Fora in celebration of Sant Crist. Via Fora is like a son et lumiére. Place: Church steps

23:00 - Philharmonic Concert by the Alcúdia Municipal Band. Place: Plaça de la Constitució, Alcúdia

00:30 - Grand firework display. Place: Charles Square (Plaça de Carles V), Alcúdia

28 July:

22:00 - Music festival with more than 20 artists. Place: Bullring (Plaça de Toros), Alcúdia
