Celebrations for Sant Antoni take place in Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Alcúdia, but by far the most important and spectacular are those in Sa Pobla which go on through the night of 16 January. This is a fiesta that shouldn't be missed as it is one of the biggest parties in Mallorca and is attended by people from all over the island.Saturday, 15 January:
12:00: Procession of "big heads" (caparrots) for children. Leaves from the Can Planes museum and ends up at the town hall.
20:00: Traditional choral concert at the parish church.Sunday, 16 January:
14:30: Departure of the Sant Antoni demons and procession through the streets of the town.
18:45: Ceremony for the commencement of the Sant Antoni revelries. In front of the town hall.
19:45: Departure from the town hall of various groups of demons as well as big heads, giants and the Sa Pobla music band.
21:15: Dances by demons and big heads with accompaniment by the music band. At the Plaça Major.
21:30: Fire musical spectacular in the Plaça Major.
22:15: Gathering of singers and ximbomba players in the Plaça Major, followed by procession of Sant Antoni to the Plaça Mercat where the big heads dance and the demons top everything off with a grand fire spectacle.Monday, 17 January:
00:30: Ximbomba players and glosador singers and improvisers. Plaça Major.
05:00: Sant Antoni procession and music with the group Wonderbrass. Plaça Major.
10:00: Procession with pipers.
11:30: Solemn mass.
12:30: Big heads' dance. Plaça Major.
15:30: Traditional blessing in the Plaça Església with pipers and giants.
16:30: Procession of floats with accompaniment from the bugle band of the Sant Antoni brotherhood and demons.
17:00: Sa Pobla dance. Plaça Major.
18:30: Choice of aspirants to be big heads in 2012.
